Ever Wonder How Residency Programs Rank Against Each Other? Meet Doximity

For the first time this match season, thousands of interviewing 4th year medical students had the opportunity to use Doximity's Residency Ranker before submitting their final rank lists. Released September 2014, Doximity opened its Residency Navigator tool to the medical world allowing anyone to see how each residency programed stacked up against others. There has never been a unified location where residency programs are examined and ranked on a list... until now. Using more than 50,000 physician evaluations of the 3,691 training programs in the US, Doximity has been able to provide more transparency in the performance and quality of training programs in 20 specialties. Unfortunately child neurology was not included in this year's rankings, but perhaps it will make an appearance when they release the new rankings in August 2015.

Anyone can see the top 10 residency programs in each specialty, but to get the full list you must register (for free) to Doximity.

  2. Hello!

I'm about to start in the Carribean this cycle, and I was wondering if you could give some words of advice.

Is there any way to contact you by email or something? :)

    1. Work hard, play hard. Thats it! Study, study then ask for help when needed. When you're able to blow off steam by going out to dinner with friends, do it. Take every opportunity.

  3. Hey Andrea.
Congrats!! Before you begin, I HIGHLY recommend reading The Real Doctor Will See You Shortly by Matt Mc Carthy. He is a Yale and Harvard Medical School graduate. It's about his first year of residency and , surprisingly, is a page turner and very illuminating.
By the way, one thing he mentions early is that you can never tell where (what school) someone came from...and that some of the finest docs he's ever met are FMGs. Hope you get a copy and enjoy!!
